Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In the bowl of your stand mixer, beat together the eggs, sugar, and both extracts. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix in the nuts and the chocolate chips until combined, and the dough holds together.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Divide the dough in half.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into two logs. Transfer the logs onto the baking sheet, evenly spaced apart.
  7. Gently flatten the tops of the logs. Sprinkle the tops with sugar and bake for 25 minutes, until the dough feels firm to the touch.
  8. Remove the cookie dough from the oven and cool for 15 minutes.
  9. Using a serrated knife, cut the cookies diagonally into 1/2-inch slices. Lay the cookies cut side down on the baking sheets and return to the oven for 20 to 30 minutes, turning the baking sheet midway through baking until the cookies feel mostly firm.
  10. Once baked, cool the cookies completely then store them in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

Notes

These cookies are also fabulous if they are half-dipped in melted chocolate, then cooled until the chocolate hardens.

About

Welcome in. On this site we will be exploring the world of Magick..that’s right, there is a K in there even though everyone will be telling me it is spelled wrong. I meant to add that K..You see, magic without the K has a different meaning.
