Ingredients
Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, add warm water, half the sugar, sprinkle in the yeast, and top with the remaining sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Add the salt, butter, and additional warm water.
- Slowly mix in 5 cups of flour, mixing on low speed until smooth. Gradually add the remaining flour, Knead on low speed for 10 minutes.
- Lightly butter a large bowl. Place dough in the bowl and turn to coat with butter. Cover and let rise in a warm place for an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down and divide it into three equal pieces. On a floured surface, roll each piece into a rectangular shape. Next, roll each rectangle into a cylinder shape and place them seam side down into a lightly buttered bread pan. Cover the pan and let the dough rise in a warm spot for an hour.
- When the loaves have risen, place them in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, covering with foil halfway through baking time to prevent over-browning the tops.
- Remove from the oven and brush with more melted. You can also add toppings at this point such as sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything bagel topping.
- Let cool before slicing.
