These Perfect Chocolate Chip Muffins are easy to make. They are moist and soft from the buttermilk in the recipe and full of mini chocolate chips.

- Melt the butter and let it cool before using.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line two twelve-cup muffin tins, only lining 6 in each tin, using every other cup. This will give the muffins a bigger rise.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in one cup of the mini chocolate chips. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, or the bowl of your stand mixer, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, sour cream, vanilla, and buttermilk.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and fold the batter gently with a rubber spatula, being careful not to overmix.
- Using a large cookie scoop, fill the muffin liners with batter. Top with a sprinkle of sugar and the remaining mini chocolate chips.
- Bake at 425 degrees F for 10 minutes. Turn the heat down to 375 degrees F and bake for another 5 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the muffins sit in the hot pan for 10 minutes. Then, cool on a cooling rack.
