These onion rings are extra crispy and are a great side dish or appetizer. They are just like the ones you get at your favorite diner.

  1. In a deep frying pan, heat canola oil to 350 degrees F.
  2. Rinse the onion and cut it into approximately 1/4-inch rings.
  3. Carefully separate the rings from each other.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and paprika in a medium bowl.
  5. Coat each onion ring in the flour mixture and set aside.
  6. Combine the leftover flour mixture after coating the onions with the milk, eggs, salt, and pepper, and beat well until no lumps remain.
  7. Coat each onion ring in this mixture and shake away the excess.
  8. Coat each onion ring in breadcrumbs.
  9. Fry the onion rings in oil until golden brown and drain on paper towels.
  10. Serve hot.
