Ingredients
Instructions
- Add flour, salt, and baking powder to the bowl of your stand mixer.
- With dough hook attachment, begin mixing on medium and slowly add oil and water.
- When oil and water are mixed in, continue mixing on low for an additional minute, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Transfer your dough ball onto a well-floured surface. Cut the ball into four quarters. Shape each quarter into a ball, then cut each into four quarters again. You will have 16 pieces.
- Cover the dough balls with plastic wrap and let the dough rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Heat a large skillet (I prefer cast iron) over medium-high heat.
- Meanwhile, begin rolling out your dough balls into approximate circles (or you can use a tortilla press). Be sure to keep the rolling pin and work surface floured.
- When the skillet is hot, place a tortilla into the skillet. Allow to cook for 1 minute on each side. Repeat this process for each tortilla.
